Web Dev workshop at CMRIT

An introductory web development workshop was conducted at CMRIT on the 5th of February 2016 as an event of the Moziety club. The event was a grand success with students from first to third year coming together to be a part of the session. The session witnessed a participation of about 200-250 students.

I, Abraar Syed, the club lead of Moziety took up this session to teach the web contributing to the increase in web literacy. Elements of HTML and CSS were introduced to the students to get them started. Unlike the traditional teaching learning sessions, this was a hands-on session where the students implemented every new concept that they were taught right away.

It was fun addressing the crowd of my own college and looking at the response of the students. All in all it was a great kick start to the semester’s first club activity.

Here’s what the co-organisers Aishwarya Naidu and Ayesha Ishrath have to say about the event:

Hello fellow Mozillians!

Mozilla exists to promote openness, innovation and opportunity on the Internet. At Mozilla, we’re a global community of technologists, thinkers and builders working together to keep the Internet alive and accessible, so people worldwide can be informed contributors and creators of the Web. We believe this act of human collaboration across an open platform is essential to individual growth and our collective future.

As a lead of the Mozilla chapter in our college (CMR Institute Of Technology),namely the MOZIETY and an FSA, I take immense pleasure to let you all know that this semester is going to be packed with excited events, goodies, fun and a lot more joyful learning. It all started with the Web Maker Party that was conducted as a part of the college’s annual fest,Cultura’15 in the previous semester, and the response we have received since then,is just thrilling.

Here’s a little sneek-peek of what exactly happened 😀
